WE BUILD COMMUNITIES

America’s SBDCs help make the dream of small business ownership a reality for more Americans — creating jobs and opportunities that build communities throughout the nation.

See how the South-West Texas Border SBDC Network has served its communities.

RURAL DEVELOPMENT

The SBDC helped with our initial launch in 2018, acquiring SBA PPP funding in 2020, and just about everything in between! This not only helped our small business grow, but also the rural community that we call home.

While also battling the pandemic from a personal standpoint, the infrastructure contractor was able to retain 89 employees. "We will never get tired of thanking SBDC for supporting our success," say brothers Manuel and Max Salinas.

ACCELERATORS + INCUBATORS

SBDC Partners with City of San Angelo Development Corp to Incubate Growth, Stimulate Local Economy

The Business Factory is co-located with and co-managed by the Angelo State University SBDC. Centurion Planning and Design LLC, an airport engineering/planning business, flourished in this supportive environment. It credits its growth to 11 staff; 3 offices in 2 states; a $500,000 downtown building purchase/remodeling loan; and the analysis of its cash flow to weather the pandemic, to the SBDC advising and training they received. "The SBDC has been a tremendous resource." – David Alexander and Molly Waller.

EXPORT

The SBDC provided high value international trade assistance, research and guidance as we pivoted our micromarket technology for global customers during the pandemic — which was vital to our young company's survival.

For over eight years, the UTSA SBDC has led 8-session cohorts of female entrepreneurs from underserved communities. The business planning and literacy curriculum is complemented by engagement with financial institutions, which develops relationships and inspires confidence to reach small business goals.
