The Pivot gets the Green Light

After being forced to pause operations in the spring, Fresh Green Light driving school was looking for a new way to bring in income. Owner Steve Mochel received approval from CT Department of Motor Vehicles to move their classes online, but wanted to ensure the instruction was effective. Working with CTSBDC, they were able to develop a best practice whitepaper for online instruction which will be used to help other Connecticut businesses in the industry to adapt cost effectively.

Integrity Martial Arts: Staying in Business and Fulfilling Service to Customers

Anticipating the state-mandated closure of non-essential businesses back in the spring, Integrity Martial Arts owner Jonathan Metcalf shifted to serving his customers online immediately. He was able to maintain his customer base and found new opportunities to keep his business growing. CTSBDC was able to help him apply for and receive a PPP loan as well as an EIDL loan and subsequently apply these loans to his business. "Go slow, but don't go backwards," cautioned Metcalf.

The help that I have received from the SBDC has been truly priceless. If it wasn't for [their] help and guidance I wouldn't be as [successful] as I am now; not to mention the amount of time, money and resources I would have exhausted on my own.
